TELECOMMUNICATIONS - Recently, Collective Infrastructure Technology, Inc. (CIT) was contracted by a large developer headquartered in Washington, DC, to design a telecommunications cabling infrastructure solution for a dual high-rise residential multiple dwelling complex in New York City. CIT accepted the project and immediately worked with the developer’s lead architects and engineers to design an internal cabling infrastructure plant that would support both the residential clientele and administrative personnel’s requirements including, but not limited to telephony, high-speed broadband data, audio / visual, cellular service, as well as a surveillance application to cover both the buildings’ exteriors and interior common areas. Once the design had been completed and accepted, CIT was asked to implement the solution. The cabling plant consists of two redundant Communication Main Distribution Frame (MDF) Rooms that serve respective Communications Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) Closets which, in turn, serve the respective floors with composite, bundled structured cabling which provides the buildings’ tenants and administrative staff with all of the potential telecommunications related amenities available to date. In addition, from a marketing perspective, CIT provided the building owners and developer with a secure, web-based video surveillance tool that enabled the Sales and Marketing team to show their potential clients the real-time progress of construction as the high-rise structures were actually being built, i.e., day by day, floor by floor. As of the end of 1Q2016, both high rise structures are approximately 90% complete and are being readied for tenant occupancy. The telecommunications services that run over the infrastructure that CIT designed and built are currently available and ready for use by the new occupants.
